The Best Ecommerce Platforms of 2018

Who was in the running for 2018?

This is worth mentioning, as ecommerce has been blowing up. Empires rise and fall.

Here’s a video overview:

Transcript: hi thanks for coming back it’s Matt here again with my web brokaw and today I want to show you seven very powerful ecommerce solutions these are not one-size-fits-all and one solution might be perfect for business owner a and might be a disaster for business owner B so when you meet with a web developer with a internet technician we’re always deciding in our minds whether you have a budget or even the technical prowess to wrangle one of these technologies to make it work for your business so certain people will work really well with that one solution and other people would work really well with another solution anyway here we go number one of course we’re gonna have to talk about Shopify Shopify is one of my favorite ecommerce platforms to sell to small business owners who want to go from no website at all to ecommerce Shopify it makes it pretty easy for us to develop and design a nice landing page for a brick-and-mortar business as well as to get into the posting of products shipping and capturing payments so all those things are new to a business owner we get them on Shopify let’s go real quick let’s look at Shopify success stories I just want to show you a few websites that run on Shopify let’s look at Soyoung Inc so when we go here this is their actual website and they built this website on Shopify so here’s their collections and we recognize this website I think we all recognize Shopify because so many websites run on Shopify so they make it very easy to look at a product select a product add it to your shopping cart pay them that’s what Shopify does and this website looks beautiful doesn’t it so let’s move quickly the next solution I’d like to talk to you about is called Magento Magento magenta can be found right here Magento com this is a much more enterprise level solution Magento was released in 2008 it’s an open source ecommerce platform you know big dogs like Burger King Pepe jeans a lot of those who walk away oil way is a big cell phone man you facture so these companies use Magento for their e-commerce and you know without getting to it without getting too detailed and too into it their solution is very powerful but also very expensive and you cannot really expect to run a a solid Magento website unless you have a team of developers PHP develop developers okay so let’s take a look at the next one here it’s called yo cart yo cart is a multi-vendor marketplace system so if you want to create a marketplace like Amazon or Ebay you would have to do that through an agreement with a company like yo cart there’s actually a lot of companies like this yo cart happens to get place on my video because they are known as one of the most popular companies that do this because they work with companies like Walmart some of the some really really big companies use yo cart trying to try to look here at my list of who’s on yo cart um let me see here well it doesn’t matter too much but we can go here at clients and we can see the biggest sum of what they consider to be their biggest clients love labels com let’s go to that website and stay with that whoops it looks like let’s just do that very quickly here okay I don’t want to doing that so I’m gonna abort mission here all right but your card is very very powerful it’s also very very expensive and it’s also it’s also gonna require a team of professional developers okay BigCommerce is next so BigCommerce it boasts more than 55,000 online stores so 55,000 customers with big commerce know I actually know some small business owners that use BigCommerce and they enjoy the experience they like the integrations with shipping merchants and they like the integrations with payment solutions so let’s go here let’s look at some clients clients my industry let’s just very quickly look at a couple clients bliss world oh I actually didn’t know bliss world was a big become ur site so here you can see these pop-ups are so popular nowadays you can see it bigcommerce enables you to design a website that looks very very unique it does not look like Shopify in other words you know you’re gonna go here and you’re gonna view these things you’re gonna add it to bag so a lot of customization again you better have a pretty solid team of developers or a third-party development firm working with you when you’re developing your BigCommerce site so okay so the e-commerce is is one of the big dawgs okay all right let’s take a look here from big commerce let’s look at v-tex v Texas huge v-tex is v-tex is a Brazilian based eco ecommerce platform okay so so whirlpool coca-cola Sony Disney Legos staples you know these are all these hex websites so let’s add let’s actually let’s just go to the staples.com take a look at what they what their website looks like a massive massive ecommerce platform right here absolutely massive beautiful so yeah that’s a very very expensive very complicated enterprise level ecommerce illusion oh well v-tex is very very famous for password free check out so they’ve seen an increase in organic traffic by 30 a 28% increase in revenue and a 54% rise and conversions through this password free checkout technology that they’ve integrated and staples is taking advantage of that so they’ve made a huge investment on that technology to be ahead of the curve alright next let’s look at what commerce WooCommerce is the e-commerce platform that I will sell when I sell a WordPress website typically if someone can afford a WordPress and WooCommerce integration I find that they will have very high search engine optimization potential so that integration for some reason seems to rank really high on in search engines so there’s a lot of stores that run on WooCommerce so we don’t really need to look at them I don’t think but actually it’s little get one real quick we’re doing fine on time here so gents all right let’s see here the gin song so here let’s go to Jim Stahl yeah let’s go here this visit Jim sell diagnosis so this this company runs on WooCommerce ok Jen soul gem soul VX calm all right and and what they do is the they do the the dog genetic testing that’s very cool so here you can see what you do here is you order it you add it to cart and this is all through their WordPress website so they’re able to host this themselves through through their own hosting platform rather than managed hosting through another solution so they’re able to own this solution themselves and develop it rather than buy it from someone else and pay a subscription for it okay so that was Luca murse and then let’s look at tick tail tick tail is like I’m gonna say tick tail and no offense it’s kind of the bottom of the barrel but if you’re a person or a business that wants to get into the e-commerce game but you don’t want to you don’t want to make a huge investment on e-commerce before you test your business model you might sign up for tick tail tick tail is a website it will always be tick Telekom but you go on here and you can add your products and add your business to the store so here we can see for example this product sold by this vendor you know sold by ha’n’t that’s very different than going to haunt calm and buying something you’re on tick tail comma buying from this van so but it does give you an idea of whether or not your products are gonna create a stir if you’re gonna have any if you’re gonna have any trouble generating revenue because if you have trouble generating revenue on this site you probably have trouble generating revenue on your own website right so those are the seven big ones there are a lot of a lot of other solutions that might be better for your business depending on what you’re getting involved in what your initial investment looks like what kind of monthly budget you have for maintenance and upgrades what kind of revenue you intend to do annually those things are all major concerns when you’re choosing a platform but thank you so much for coming back it was my pleasure to show you these things please subscribe to my youtube channel check me out on Facebook and on LinkedIn it’s my wet road com and you can see me at – whoa calm thank you so much have a great day bye
