What is women empowerment and why didn’t I write “women’s”? Women empowerment is that which gives voice and relevance to women. It’s about bringing women into the fold of society.

Why am I writing things that sound funny?
Because you’ve been using the wrong term, we all have (maybe that’s part of the problem), if you’ve been using it at all. I’m going to clear that up for you.
“Women’s” empowerment is, according to English, something that women own. That means we’re talking about a noun, a thing. “Women empowerment” means we’re talking about an action, a movement, and the real topic of discussion.

Thanks for the semantics lesson, but why are we on this topic?
Given the current political and social conversations going on about gender and equality, let’s get you up to speed on why this is relevant today. Bullet style.
Women empowerment is:
- Freedom to make one’s own choices
